A new company will be taking over the production of this yarn in 2013. Saco River Dyehouse
Also called Paterna on older labels.
Discontinued in 2009
This is a three ply needlepoint yarn that can be separated into individual plies or used as is as a worsted weight yarn. Needlepoint yarns are generally less elastic than knitting yarns. Useful for mending and small areas of colorwork. Gauge and needle size will vary depending on the number of plies used.
Prepacked in 4 sizes; 8 yard skeins, one ounce 40 yard skeins and 160 yard 4 ounce hanks and 1 pound cones. Also sold precut into approximately 30 inch lengths by the strand or in bundles.
Metric packaging may also be available in some parts of the world.
Hanks and small skeins are available in all 418 colors. 40 yard skeins have a more limited palette.
Note older hanks have three different sized plies, modern hanks have plies all the same size.
Hopefully back in production in early 2013.
