This is a different base yarn than the new version of Skein Sport, which works up to a lighter weight, although it has the same yardage.

Skein Sport is a heavy sport weight yarn that is spun using 100% Merino fibre. This yarn consists of 4 plies which are plied together to form a firm twist, this helps to create a durable fabric with great stitch definition. Skein Sport has a natural lustre, colours do appear lighter and more heathered than on other bases. Can be used for felting.
