Ariel Altaras

Ariel Altaras

A scientist by day and a knitter and designer by night in Seattle, WA. I’ve been an avid sock knitter since my first pair in 2004, and have completed over 200 pairs of socks. I enjoy trying new techniques and sock constructions, as well as coming up with combinations on my own. I’ve had patterns published in How To Knit In the Woods, and Yarn Forward, Knitcircus, Knit Edge, and Stranded magazines. I’ve also had designs included in Yarnbox. I’m currently working on a sock book with Cooperative Press.

If you want to chat about my patterns, join my group! Stariel Knits Fan Club
