Caroline Dick

I’m doing a thing.
I’m temporarily closing my Ravelry store.
I urge people instead of waiting for my store to reopen, to purchase your patterns from other designers/companies who may be more impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bluntly, my household does not have a lot of money. We don’t even have any savings. But I always keep my pantry well stocked. And currently all our bills are paid up (a rare occurrence, let me tell you). I also have the privilege of being able to appeal to my parents for help in dire situations, so I do have a back up if needed. Currently, our end of month looks tight, but flush.
The same can not be said for many of my fellow designers, and others in our community. I can see how people are trying to keep a brave face in these times. I can hear the worry, while trying to be positive.
I don’t have any spare money to support my fellow fibre people, so this is one small thing I can do.
Stay safe, stay home if you can, wash your hands.

Caroline Dick is an Indigenous Two-Spirit designer from Kamloops, British Columbia Canada. She has been published in various books and magazines including knitscene, Noro Yarns, Noro Kureyon 30th Anniversary Collection, Koigu Magazine, as well as various collaborations and self published designs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I would like to apologize if i have caused any harm by not having more inclusive sizing. Patterns will be regraded. All future self-publish patterns will have more inclusive sizing. Current contracts that are already signed will receive a more inclusive sizing then commissioned for, if they do not use it I will be exploring my options to make the sizing available. I am committing to including sizing from XS-5X sizing in my design submissions to publications. It is a non-negotiable term for all contracts from here forward. These are MINIMUM requirements for any of my future designs. Depending on the complexity of the design I may grade more sizes for individual designs.
Again, I would like to sincerely apologize for any harm I may have caused with inadequate sizing in my designs, and I will do my best to remedy this.
