My name is Diane Tessaglia-Hymes, and I am a communications coordinator at Cornell University in upstate New York and freelance graphic designer. I first learned to knit as a teenager, but in 2010, I started avidly knitting again, and have recently started to design my own knits. I draw inspiration from science and the natural world, influenced by my fascination for color, light, and the patterns created by reflection and shadow. I strive for designs that are functional yet beautiful, and ones that achieve a balance between challenging the knitter and allowing time for meditative repetition. When not knitting or working, I enjoy cooking, yoga, sewing, drawing, learning Japanese, and managing an Airbnb with my husband of 25 years.
