Speckled Lines
I gravitate towards variegated yarns. They have all the colors, and I want ALL the colors! But sometimes all the loveliness gets muddied when used for garments. So, what to do? One solution is planned pooling where the stitch count helps align the colors in the yarn so they fall together. Another option is to separate the colors, and that’s what this pattern does. By pairing a variegated yarn with a solid color and incorporating slipped stitches, this design puts the focus on the individual colors of the variegated yarn. The pattern also works well with a contrasting solid or handspun yarn for the contrasting color.
