Hi, I’m Jane, a knitwear and crochet designer based in Lincoln, UK. With 18 years of experience writing patterns for UK knitting magazines, I specialise exclusively in babies’ and children’s designs, whimsical knits that are as much fun to make as they are to wear.

My patterns have appeared in The Knitter, Let’s Knit, Knit Now, Simply Knitting, and Love Knitting for Baby, and I’ve produced mini collections for Scheepjes, King Cole, and Eden Cottage Yarns.

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me on my blog at janeburns.co.uk, where I share free patterns, tutorials, and knitting guides for anyone making things for the little people in their lives. I also knit quietly in the corner of comedy clubs, and enjoy live music (the knitting usually stays home for that one).

I share my life with my husband Doug, my three now very much grown-up children (one still at home, keeping me company), and a house that’s a little quieter without our beloved mini schnauzer Bertie.
