Everything started like every good story, with Grandma and the kitchen.
Grandma Łucja (in English that would be Lucy and she would love it!) taught me how to crochet on her kitchen floor while she brewed her next cup of coffee. Yes, this wonderful lady not only showed me a crochet hook but also hooked me on coffee.

I was instantly in love with crochet. Like me, Grandma was a librarian, and you know what they have in libraries? Craft books! I spent hours trying to make anything I could from those pages. It’s a pity that in the 90s we didn’t have the ease of making photos like now, because I would love to see my old projects. I especially enjoyed making pencil cases from the crazy scrap yarns my grandma kept stashed in a small pouf.

Knitting came next, and again I took all the books from the library. Later I had the pleasure of learning from YouTube as well. I can count the days without knitting on one hand.

I have always liked creating my own designs. For a long time, they stayed hidden in my sketchbooks, but one day I decided to take a chance and post on Ravelry. It turned out to be one of the best choices I made, because I do not have many friends who craft, and here I truly hit the jackpot.

Publishing my patterns became a small hobby that supports my crochet and knitting passion. I keep the prices of my paid patterns around the cost of “a ball of yarn on Drops sale.” My crochet patterns are usually simple, full of instructions, and often free, because I know Grandma Lucy would love that.
