Piccolo Stitchworks

My name is Nicole, and I am a knitting and sewing pattern designer residing in New England. I have always had an affinity for creating with my hands since I was a young child, and began figuring out how to make clothing for my dolls shortly after learning to tie my shoes.

I have previously worked in theatrical costuming, dance costuming, custom couture sewing, ready-to-wear clothing construction, bridal alterations, and custom bridal accessories. I completed a degree in Fashion Merchandising at FIT, and also a bachelor’s degree in music from Skidmore College.

I returned to my doll clothing-making passion after college, and started Clarisse’s Closet: a doll-sized fashion blog, hand-made clothing line, and collection of sewing and knitting patterns. After several years of enjoying this passion project, I am not currently adding to the blog or clothing shop, but the pattern collection is still available, and may continue to grow.

I have continued my doll-sized clothing pattern design work for a publisher, and am working on expanding my original designs into full-sized garments and accessories.
