11 Shore Vest
A wave-textured summer vest inspired by shoreline contours, perfect for layering or wearing solo. A mindful knit with beautiful surface detail and multiple styling options.
The 11 Shore Vest is a modern sleeveless knit, worked flat from the bottom up in an undulating wavy stitch pattern that echoes the organic lines found along sandy beaches. Designed with 5 cm (2”) of negative ease at the bust, it offers a gently fitted silhouette that works beautifully as a breezy summer top or layered over dresses and long sleeves into autumn. Style it with a clean button-through finish or customise it with one or more I-cord ties for a contemporary twist.
To begin, the hem is cast on using the long tail cast-on method and worked in garter stitch with a smaller needle to create a neat, structured edge. The body is then worked in one piece back and forth in the wave pattern to the armholes.
Next, the front and back are divided, and shaping begins for the armholes and neckline, all while maintaining the stitch pattern for a seamless flow of texture.
To finish, the shoulders are grafted together for a clean join, and stitches are picked up around the neckline and armholes to work matching garter stitch bindings. Your chosen fastening is then added, buttons or I-cord ties, and your 11 Shore Vest is ready to wear.
