Much easier than the Wallaby!

There are few sweaters as cozy and wonderful on a brisk fall day as a hoodie you knit yourself in your favorite yarn. Wear another sweater under it, or just a t-shirt, keep your hands warm without carrying gloves, put up the hood if your ears get cold. The hoodie is quite possibly the perfect comfortable sweater. This pattern includes enough sizes for everyone you know. Make it in solid colors or with color-coordinated intarsia running stripes for a modern, sporty look.

Fibers We Love to Use!

The little girls’ hoodie sample was made in Plymouth Galway’s Celery (146) with three Forget-Me-Not flowers made out of Sicily Blue (111) with Golden centers (60). Get creative and make your hoodies very personal and unique with any Noni flower or your own choice of embellishment!

The pictured womens’ hoodie was made in Stonehedge Fiber Mill’s Shepherd’s Wool in Lime.

Any worsted weight yarn that achieves the gauge will work for this pattern. For a soft wool garment, try Stonehedge Fiber Mill’s Shepherd’s Wool. Other worsted weight wools that work well are Plymouth Yarns’ Galway and Louet’s Riverstone. Shepherd’s Worsted by Lorna’s Laces will make a lovely superwash hoodie in delicious hand-dyed colors. For a transitional wool / cotton hoodie, try Skacel’s Schulana Merino Cotton 90.

NOTE: The Noni Forget-Me-Not and other Noni flowers are sold separately. 100% of Noni profits on the Forget-Me-Not pattern go to support breast cancer research and services for breast cancer sufferers and survivors.
