The Cinch (No. 146)

These fashionable, up-to-date bags are certain to catch the attention of all bag afficionados: you’re sure to be asked where you bought yours. In three sizes, the Cinch has a right bag for everybody. Easy to knit, felt, and finish (try riveting for faster, more secure handle application), it’s the perfect marriage of aesthetics and functionality.

As with all Noni Bags, you can make felted or unfelted.

Pattern Difficulty

Intrepid beginner: requires knowledge of knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches, working in the round on circular needles, and some simple hand-sewing.

Gauge

Pre-felted gauge: 12 stitches and 16 rounds = 4” (10cm) using a double-strand of worsted weight yarn.
Felted gauge: 16 stitches and 24 rounds = 4” (10cm).
