Lopi’s Bonnet — Knot Stitch Bonnet Worked in the Round
Bonnets are very warm because they wrap around the ears, and the ties add interest to one’s outfit. The yarn used in this project, Manchelopi, has enough crimp and loft in the wool fibers to make it lightweight even when worked in patterning throughout. It is also smooth to the touch, so it feels wonderful even against the most sensitive areas of the face. This bonnet will become a must-have for every cold winter’s day.
Lopi’s Bonnet is worked in the round from the bottom up in a knot pattern. The crown is worked with distributed decreases. The brim is then picked up from the cast-on and worked back and forth, and chained ties are worked to finish the piece. Pattern instructions are given in text.
