Inspiration behind 15@themaltings

15@themaltings Beanie was designed to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the unravel festival of yarn. Unravel is the biggest yarn show in South East UK, held in the town of Farnham, within the beautiful buildings that make up The Maltings. A standout feature of the Maltings is the bright orange exterior brickwork, warmly reflected in the river Wey that flows alongside.

Our commemorative beanie has been inspired by this view, with split rectangles in the main body depicting the dark windows against the stunning orange brickwork; whilst the stripes in the brim are reminiscent of the reflection of the buildings in the canal.

The beanie is knitted in our 4ply yarn, using 2 strands held together to create a luxuriously soft, airy fabric that feels warm yet light on your head. To do this using 1 skein, take 1 strand from the centre of the yarn cake and 1 from the outside.
