Add a little luxe texture to your home, tree, or gifts with these puffy crocheted stars!

Each one uses up leftover worsted weight-yarn in a most festive way and are quick little projects.

First, two circular centers are crocheted, one for the front and one for the back. Then, these circles are joined together with crochet stitches along one-fifth sections of their corresponding outer edges to begin the base of one of the star’s five points. Each point is then crocheted in the round with decreases to create the pointy shape. Stiches crocheted around the post of the stitches in the round below create a nice, raised spine along each of the five points.

A small amount of stuffing material is used along the way to puff up the stars. The ends are woven in and voila! You end up with a very gratifying project with multiple uses!

Add a loop of thin ribbon to turn your star into an ornament. String a whole bunch of them along a longer strand of ribbon for a beautiful and unique garland. Or just scatter them on a table or collect a bunch in a basket for lovely, tactile home décor.
