3 bobble hat beanies
The pattern is written for crochet and knitting. The ribbing is achieved by knitting either a k1 p1 or k2 p2 rib and the body is crochet. It is written in 3 styles and in 3 sizes, for toddler, child and adult. I have used 100% Bluefaced Leicester but you can use any aran yarn with a similar swatch of 14 Sts and 17 rows. You will need 2 x 50g balls for the small and medium size hats, 1 of each colour. The large hat will use 2 x 50g balls of one colour and a small amount in a contrasting colour. The sizes can be made smaller or larger by deducting 7 stitches from the small hat for a smaller size (newborn) and reducing the height of the hat by 1”. For a larger hat, add 7 stitches to the large hat pattern and increase the height by 1”. You can mix and match the patterns i.e. strips, zig zags or bobbles, all in one colour or any combination you choose.
