This pattern can be used to create a star blanket of any size and can also be adapted to use as a temperature project, which is what I wrote it for. See notes below.

Any weight yarn can be used. Use the hook suggested on the yarn label, though you might opt to go a half a size or one size larger, depending on how tight you crochet. The pattern is simple to follow with 5 set up rounds and then a repeat of the 5th round while adding one double crochet on either size of the point. Continue as many repeats as necessary to make as small or as large of blanket as you wish.

If this pattern is going to be used for a temperature blanket, you will complete the set up rounds in a neutral color (though you can do the first row for day 1 if you want) and then start the colors that you have set up for your temperature blanket on row 6. I have included my personal examples of colors and temperatures, but I live in a warmer climate. You need to base the chart on your own color preferences and temperatures.

Each point on the star is a day for each round - 7 days, 7 points on the star. Each round is one week. Each point is the same day of the week, unless you choose to turn your work every round. You will complete 53 rounds (the last round will have the remaining days of the year that go past 52 weeks), plus the neutral color in the center and if you want a border. Of course, feel free to adapt the pattern as you wish. I may throw in a black row every so many weeks.

I used a 5mm hook and worsted weight yarn and each round adds approximately an inch or slightly less. This pattern will be updated as I continue working through the 2026 year with additional photos and suggestions.
