“A Boston Christmas”

This is DK weight cowl using one skein of hand dyed yarn, so is perfect for that skein of yarn you bought just because you loved it!
I have used yarn that contains silk to give the cowl a soft drape, but it would be equally good in a firmer base of yarn too.

Its suitable for a beginner who knows the basic skills and provides a piece of work with interest and rhythmic working.

The cowl as been designed around the Outlander story, I wanted to create a piece for Brianna in her own time, and I immediately thought of fairy lights and Christmas when I saw this yarn. If you know the story you will also piece it with Roger travelling to Boston to experience his first Boston Christmas, and here is where it takes its name.

The cowl has a twisted top edge, with gentle shaping and textured stitches for interest.

I have added a small picot edge to the cast off which are depicting a string of Christmas fairy lights.

It is worked on larger than normal needles for dk weight yarn and has a lovely drape from doing so.

I hope you enjoy the making and wearing of the cowl and as always thank you for the support of my work.
