I wanted to create a hat with a flattish “sunburst” top and bands of pattern. I used the classic design of the Sirupsnitter (diamond shaped cookies from Norway), set out for the festivities of Winter, along with a small XO for good measure, and topped with a sunburst, to keep your head warm!
This hat is knit in the round with cables and textured sts. This hat looks best knit in a solid or tonal Worsted weight yarn. The height of the hat is easily changed by adding or subtracting the solid knit rows between the solid purl rows that separate the patterns. You may also like to add a large pom pom which would look cool, too!
Large size is seen on each model.
