A romantic feminine blouse. With a square neckline and long billowing poet sleeves. Inspired by summer nights befit for a delicate airy blouse.

About the pattern:

The blouse is knit in the round with circular needles, then separated for flat knitting of the front and back and construction of the straps. The straps are then bound together with a 3 needle bind off. The neckline isn’t picked up but rather the strap edge stitches are worked with an I-cord edge. The sleeves are picked up and worked in 2 strands of mohair. All techniques are detailed in the abbreviations and if you are a beginner feel free to email me for assistance. I try not to classify my patterns at a level as I believe anyone can attempt them successfully with perseverance, and some assistance with the techniques you are not familiar with. Any technique becomes easier with repetition and muscle memory.

Sizing XS / S / M /L / XL

Bust: 103(108/114/119/124cm) (The blouse should have positive ease; this is the measurement without stretch. The bust centre stitches have a gathered increase/ruffle though these added stitches are not considered in the measurements. The garment will have quite a bit of room in the bust area, though the centre ruffle should not be stretched to capacity but rather sit in its gathered state)

Waist: 80(85/90/95/100cm)
Body length from armpit: 25(26/27/29/30cm)
Sleeve length from armpit: 50(50/52/52/52cm)
Gauge: 16 stitches = 10cm
What you need

Yarn and Yarn Quantities:

• Any DK yarn for body that meets the gauge- I used scrap DK yarns of similar colours. Approx 710/852/852/994/1136 metres, this may vary depending on your choice of yarn and depending on if you adapt the length.

• Mohair for sleeves (Rowan kids Haze) 100(100/125/150/150 grams / 840(840/1050/1260/1260 metre’s approximately – this may vary with different yarn.

Needles: I use 80cm needles for both body and sleeves and use the magic loop technique for smaller circumferences) other options below:

Needles for Body:
5mm circular needles (60cm or 80cm are both fine)
Needles for sleeves:
5mm circular needles (40cm) or 60/80cm throughout and work in magic loop or opt for DPNs.
If using 40cm, at the point the circumference becomes very small at the cuff of the sleeves you may wish to change to DPNs, or switch to larger needles for the magic loop technique. It is possible to work in magic loop with 40cm circulars but it’s not as easy to manoeuvre.
