Do you want to wear your sandals even though it is cold?
Do you want to be able to run outside quickly to the recycling bin or to fetch something from the car but cannot be bothered to put on shoes?
Do you like to wriggle your big toe?
Do you like to use your toes to pick up items?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you might need split toe socks.

This split toe recipe can be applied to any top down sock with a 64 stitches instep. Just knit the sock until you reach the toe and instead of knitting one toe pocket, you knit one for your big toe and one for the other four.

Note that this is NOT a full sock pattern. It is a ‘recipe’ for toes that you can add to other sock patterns. The recipe contains written instructions for a left sock and a right sock, for feet with moderately tapered toes. Yardage given is only for the toe portion.

In the sample, the toes are applied to Hermione’s Everyday Sock.

Also check out my page on Ko-fi! You can find patterns there too, or you can tip me whatever you’d like – no pressure though, just enjoy the pattern :-)
