Stylish fingerless mittens with gusset increases and a seed stitch pattern running over the outer three fingers. Curled up stockinette edges add a playful touch.

March 2024 following feedback on errors in the pattern I have decided to take it offline for the time being until I have time to fix it. As I am not a professional pattern writer this will only be done when I find the time for it. In the meantime, if you want to knit the pattern, I am happy to send you the old pdf - I do believe that if you have some experience knitting you would be able to figure it out, I am just not comfortable at this point to keep it as a download.

12 December 2023 ERRATA: The seed stitch panel is misaligned, error in which stitches should be set aside for thumb..
For the right mitten: k1 in the gusset section should be k6. Place the 8 stitches to the right of the increases on scrap yarn for the thumb.
For the left mitten: k8 should be k16 in this same section.
Place the 8 stitches to the left of the increases on scrap yarn for the thumb

13 November 2023: you can now download an updated version of my Seed Stitch Fingerless Mittens! I am really amazed by the number of people who have downloaded and made my pattern since 2019, and hope these updated instructions will find their way to even more people.

Changes:

• Instructions for left mitten producing a right mitten and vice versa should be solved
• Moved beginning of round for more straightforward instructions for the increases
• One set up round added after the cuff
• Reformatted the pattern so printing is easier - the actual knitting instructions are on pages 2-3

Disclaimer: I am not a professional pattern maker, but simply want to share my successful personal projects and experiments in pattern form with the knitting community. As such, the first version of this pattern had some errors, with this new version I hope to have made improvements. Of course I am always open to receive feedback on this version too. Since knitting is not my job, I may not be able to create an updated pdf immediately, but for bigger issues I will at least try to add an errata note to the pattern page.

Yarn:
Approximately 90-100 meters aran weight.
Shown in Katia Concept Cotton Merino (70% cotton, 30% merino wool).

Needles:
US 8/5 mm dpns or circular needles for your preferred method of knitting small circumferences in the round.
Use cable length of at least 32 inches/80 cm to do magic loop

Gauge:
18 stitches x 34 rows = 10x10 cm

Notions:
Stitch markers, scrap yarn.
