Materials
1. US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method)
2. Fingering weight yarn – 231y/50g (211m/50g):
Background Color (BC) – 150y/137m
Contrast Color 1 (CC1) – 95y/87m
Contrast Color 2 (CC2) – 30y/27m
Plus small amount of other colors for adding details with duplicate stitch or embroidery (optional, see table of symbols)
3. Tapestry needle

Gauge
9 sts x 13 rows (in stranded colorwork knitting in the round) in 1” x 1” after blocking

Notes
1. Size: The mittens are 70 stitches in the hand part. With recommended yarn, needles, and gauge the mittens should fit an 8” circumference hand. To make larger size mittens use larger needles or thicker yarn.
2. Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Make sure to catch longer floats using preferred method.
3. Duplicate stitch: Some details are added after the knitting is completed with duplicate stitch. Refer to embroidery charts for guidance on adding details.
