I absolutely fell in love with this wonderful cotton yarn, Nurture, by Euro Baby Yarns. I typically choose linen over cotton, but something about the soft feel and interesting texture made me take it home. I decided to create a squishy beach sweater that could work with many different DK weight yarns. I also wanted to create a pattern that less experienced knitters could make. This design utilizes basic sweater techniques: mattress stitch, picking-up sts, and three-needle bind off. I have links to tutorials for those skills in the pattern.

Notions

Notes
This slightly boxy pullover is first knit flat as separate Front and Back pieces, which are then seamed at the Shoulder using three-needle bind off or mattress stitch. I do find three-needle BO creates a more stable seam, especially for plant-based yarns. The Neck Band is picked-up and knitted in the round. Once the sleeve stitches are picked-up, they are worked flat before one continuous seam is created (from the edge of the sleeve cuff, down through the underarm and side of body). If you want to add length, you can add a Section directly after the bottom rib. Be sure to add on both the Front and Back pieces.
The sleeves, as written, are full-length for most people. If you’d like shorter sleeves, you can work the cuff rib after any sleeve Section.
