This delicate reticule is inspired by Mr. Bingley’s observation that all young ladies seem accomplished. Embroidery was an important part of the education of every young lady in Austen’s era. This purse re-creates the look and skill of an embroidered piece in a most delicate and useful manner; it is knitted in a fine gauge with a floral motif duplicate-stitched on top of the plain stockinette-stitch background.

NOTE
• As this piece is worked in the round, the first and last stitches of each round may not fully line up, causing the charts for the Border to appear staggered at only the first and last stitch. This staggering will be at the back of the reticule.
