This pattern is worked seamlessly, top-down, in the round with stranded colorwork. The shape is tapered (using increases) so that the cowl is close-fitting around the neck and lays gently around the collarbone at the bottom.

This pattern is a great introduction to stranded colorwork. The colorwork has a maximum of 5 consecutive stitches so that catching floats is not necessary. Techniques include casting on, knitting, purling, increases (M1R and M1L), stranded colorwork, knitting through the back loop (ktbl) (optional), and binding off.

Colorwork is charted only.
