Adeline's Cardigan
Adeline’s Cardigan is a stunning feast for the eyes. The generous peplum is worked sideways in three pieces. Stitches are picked up from the top of the peplum, and the back and fronts are worked separately from the bottom up. Captivating cables abound in this piece for the adventurous knitter.

Yarn Weight 4
Finished Size 34 ½ (37 ½, 40 ¾, 44 ½, 48 ¼, 52 ¼, 56 ¼, 60 ¼)“ circumference at underarm, buttoned. Cardigan shown measures 34 ½”; modeled with 3 ½“ of positive ease.
Yarn Manos del Uruguay Alegría Grande (75% superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon; 197 yd 180 m/ 3 ½ oz 100 g): #AG2058 Turmeric, 11 (12, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) skeins. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Needles Size 6 (4 mm): 24” circular (cir). Size 5 (3.75 mm): straight. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; 2 spare double-pointed needles (dpn) in size 6 (4 mm) or smaller; 8 (8, 9, 9, 9, 10, 10, 10) 3/4” buttons; tapestry needle.
Gauge 20 sts and 29 rows = 4” in St st on larger needle; 16 st cable = 2 ¼“ wide.

NOTES
- The cabled peplum of this cardigan is worked sideways in pieces for the back and each front, then stitches are picked up on the wrong side for the moss-stitch peplum. Stitches are picked up along the opposite edge of the peplum for the back and each front, which are worked from the bottom up in pieces and seamed. The cabled cuff on the sleeve is worked sideways, then stitches are picked up along the cuff for the sleeve, which ends in pleats.
