The inspiration for this design has come from the cat in the story that Jamie gifts to Claire, he suggests naming the cat “Adso” after his mother’s cat. Although this happens in a previous book, Adso features also in this book and with Honey Girl Farms dyeing a yarn of the same name it seemed perfect to use it here.

I have taken the working of a traditional Shetland knitting stitch called ‘Cats Paw” to tie the theme and the connection to Scotland.
It is a crescent shaped shawl, using simple stitches, the pattern is written row by row with no chart.

It is aimed at knitters with some experience.

To keep in the book club theme the pattern has been written in a book format rather than my normal layout.
