The Chasing Bubbles Tank is knit in the round from the bottom up. Once the full length is complete, the underarm stitches are bound off and stitches on the front and back are left on hold. You will make one icord, join it to the right side of the tank, continue working an icord bind off along the front and finish with another icord to create the left strap. The same is worked on the back. The icord straps are tied on each shoulder to make a bow and complete the top. The bobbles are worked with a crochet hook and the pattern provides video tutorials for this. You can also choose to the knit the bobbles or knit a tank without them.

Sizes:

Chest circumference: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46) (50, 54, 58, 62)“ / 76 (86, 96.5, 106.5, 117) (127, 137, 147, 158) cm

Measure around the widest part of your chest and choose the closest size. The top is designed with 1-2” (2.5-5cm) of positive ease to give it a relaxed fit. The body and strap lengths are customizable.

Schematic can be found on page 3 of the pattern.

Yarn:

Light worsted weight yarn - I used KnitPicks Comfy Worsted, a cotton/acrylic blend in the color Hollyberry. Free free to use any light worsted or DK yarn that matches the gauge for this pattern.

Yards: appox. 450 (520, 580, 660, 700) (780, 840, 930, 990)
Meters: approx. 410 (475, 530, 600, 640) (715, 770, 850, 905)
Keep in mind that if you add extra length to your top, you will need more yarn.

Needles:

  • US 4 (3.5mm) circulars for the hem and trim, US 6 (4.0mm) circulars for the body and bind off, and US 4 (3.5mm) DPNs for the straps. Choose a cord length for your needles that is 2-4” (5-10cm) less than the finished circumference of your top.
  • Size G6/4mm crochet hook for the bobbles
