Agnes Scarf
The Agnes Scarf uses a simple combination of knit and purl stitches and contrast stripes to create this striking stitch pattern. It’s knitted using two colours, working two rows in each colour throughout.
This pattern provides easy to follow, detailed instructions using the following techniques: Long tail cast on, knit, purl, cast off.
Skill Level: Beginner/Easy
Size: One Size - 17cm/6¾’’ x 145cm/57’’. Instructions on how to modify the pattern for other sizes are included.
Yarn: Sport or DK weight yarn in two colours. The yarn should have a standard stocking stitch tension of approx. 20-24sts. You can find this information on the ball band. You will need approx. 90g/252m of both colour A and colour B. We used:
Colour A - Green
2 balls of Kremke Soul Wool, The Merry Merino 140 in colour 17 - 100% wool. (140m/153yds per 50g ball.)
Colour B - White
2 balls of Kremke Soul Wool, The Merry Merino 140 in colour 01 - 100% wool. (140m/153yds per 50g ball.)
Alternative yarn suggestions: De Rerum Natura Ulysse, BC Garn Semilla, West Wool Tandem, CaMaRose Hverdagsuld, Cardiff Cashmere Classic, Drops Merino Extra Fine.
Suggested Needle Size: 3.5mm/US 4 knitting needles
Gauge: Garter stripe stitch on 3.5mm/US 4 needles:
10cm/4’’ x 10cm/4’’ = 24 stitches x 46 rows
