The Aino Tee is a simple, timeless T-shirt, inspired by the glassware created by Aino Aalto, which evokes the ripples on water. Unnecessary lines are eliminated to highlight the stripes and the body gradually widens toward the hem, just like the glass.
A keyhole at the back neck makes it easy to put it on and take it off, even when the tee is knit with non-stretchy summer yarn like linen.
With its simple pattern, I believe both beginners and experienced knitters alike will find it relaxing and enjoyable. I hope you enjoy your summer knitting.

It is worked from the top down. First, the top of the yoke is worked back and forth to create the keyhole opening at the center back, and with short rows to make the back higher. Then the piece is joined to work in the round and the yoke increases begin. Once the stitches are divided into the body and sleeves at the underarms, the body is worked in the round with body increases. Lastly, the sleeves are worked in the round to your preferred length. All edges are finished with slip stitch using a crochet hook, also used for making a button loop.

25 sts and 38 rnds = 10 cm / approx. 4 inches in Aino stitch pattern (see stitch guide) on 3.75 mm / US 5 needles, after blocking

Aino Tee (アイノ ティー)は, 水面のさざ波を彷彿せるアイノ アアルトのガラス作品からインスピレーションを得た, シンプルでタイムレスなTシャツです. ストライプを際立たせるため余計な線を無くし, ガラス作品のように裾に向かって徐々に広がっていくシルエットに仕上げました.

トップダウンで編みます. まず, ヨークの上部を往復編みで編み進め, 背中中央にキーホールを作りながらショートロウで背中の高さを出します. その後, 編み地をつなぎ合わせて輪編みにし, ヨークの増目を始めます. 脇の下で身頃と袖を分け, 身頃は輪編みで増目しながら編みます. 最後に袖を好みの長さになるまで輪編みで編みます. すべての縁はかぎ針を使って引き抜き編みで仕上げ, くさり編みでボタンループを作ります.
