This thread in the NewNorwegian group is intended to answer common questions about this shawl.

Please make sure that you are using the August 2020 version of the pattern. This version improves the instructions for the edging.

Akerselva is a half-pi shawl featuring the Estonian lace pattern called waves. The motif is a 6-row repeat and easy to memorize.

The pattern assumes that you can read charts, cast on provisionally, and have some experience knitting lace. Links are provided for 2 techniques to work nupps. There is a photo tutorial for attaching the edging.

I’m experimenting this year with a pay-what-you-will model. If you have made this pattern and would like to show your appreciation, please consider buying me a virtual coffee! Thanks for your support!

This shawl is part of my series Dreams of Norway, which contains designs inspired by my adopted country. The Aker River (Akerselva) runs through Oslo.
