Enjoy these orca whales moving around the hat at different heights. The waves surround the hat and the orca whales swim over them. The mittens are black and white to represent the orca with the waves floating around them.

The pattern is written as one size but does have stretch. This pattern was knit using Aran weight yarn. If you use another weight wool (eg. worsted) please check your gauge as it will change the size of the hat. As written, the hat is around 21 inches in circumference and 9 inches long. The brim folds over for extra warmth. The mittens are 7 inches in circumference and 9 inches long. The length can be adjusted

To make the hat and mittens you will need 5 colours. The main colour and the black and white require the most yarn, but far less than 1 skein of each. The blues can be done with leftovers.

This hat and mitten set is made using stranded knitting. Most rounds use three colours. Be careful to carry the yarn without long floats across the back of work on the hat.
