The beauty of wildflowers growing on Sunshine Mountain in the spring, in the Canadian Rockies, were the inspiration for this hat. Enjoy the beauty of wildflowers on your winter hat and mittens.

This pattern is written as one size but does have some stretch. As written, the hat is around 21 inches in circumference and 9 inches in length. This hat was knit using Aran weight yarn. If you use another weight wool (eg. worsted) please check your gauge as it will change the size of the hat. The mittens are 7 inches in circumference and 9.5 inches in length but length can be adjusted.

The hat and mittens are made using stranded knitting. Most of the time, only two colours are used at once but there are 4 rounds where all three colours are used. It is an easy chart to follow and because the flower is symmetrical, it works up quickly.

It is a quick knit and probably takes less than a week to complete both hat and mittens. Great gift for Christmas!
