Alba
Alba is an Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern
Inspired by the rugged beauty of Scotland’s west coast, Alba is a nature-inspired overlay mosaic-crochet blanket featuring thistles, native flora, and geometric motifs reminiscent of windswept landscapes and open skies. The design was inspired by a trip to the Isle of Lewis, where bright purple thistles stood proudly against the soft colours of the beach and sea. That contrast between wild and calm became the starting point for this pattern.
Designed with beginners in mind, Alba uses simple overlay mosaic crochet techniques and easy-to-follow repeats to create an eye-catching blanket without complex stitches.
The pattern includes both charts and written instructions, making it suitable whether you prefer working visually or from written rows.
