The top three rows of white motifs in this sweater design are further apart towards the shoulders to create a visually “embracing” effect around the shoulders. This subtle widening of the distance improves the shape of the yoke, pulls the eye in the middle and gives the impression that the sweater wraps gently around the shoulders, adding both warmth and a flattering, cozy silhouette.

The pattern includes helpful links to essential techniques used in this design, such as Double Stitches (German short rows), the German Twisted Cast-On method, and seamlessly closing colorwork in the round.
