Create handspun socks that are durable and resistant to abrasion yet soft and elastic. This pattern accompanies the article “Nature’s Nylon: Natural Alternatives for Stronger Socks” published in the Winter 2022 issue of Spin Off Magazine.

Materials
Fiber 4 oz (113g) Red Oak Farm 100% Gulf Coast Native wool, natural and indigo dyed; 4 oz Frivolous Ewe 100% Wensleydale roving, handpainted green. Yarn 3-ply; 140 (170, 205) yds MC, 60 (75, 90) yds each of CC1, CC2, and CC3; 1,520 ypp; 14 wpi; heavy fingering to sport weight.
Needles Size 2 (2.75 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); tapestry needle.

Gauge 37 sts and 55 rnds = 4” in patt.

Finished Size 6.5 (7.75, 9)“ foot circumference and 8.25 (8.75, 9.25)” long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable. Socks shown measure 7.75”.
