The alpaca hat is a simple but charming hat. The cables give it a sense of rustic elegance. Designed with double ribbing, it sits comfortably on the ear while keeping you cozy. It’s the perfect hat that works well with any outfit. And not only that, but you can also wear it even on the coldest of days.
The alpaca hat is knitted with two strands of alpaca yarn, ensuring it’s warm and soft so even the smallest can enjoy it. The hat’s easy design makes it a great choice for beginners, but its timeless elegance will endear everyone.

Structure:
First, we knit the first half of the ribbing of the hat. When the first half is done, create a neat, folded edge; this will help fold the double ribbing perfectly every time. Finish the ribbing by making the second half. The middle section of the hat is knitted in beginner-friendly cables. Towards the end you must decrease the stitches while keeping the cables I advise to keep track of what row in the chart you are on as it can be difficult to count the rows in cable knit after the cable is made.

Sizes: XS, (S), M

This fits a head circumference of about 45-48 (48 – 53) 53 – 58 cm. For reference a woman is usually the size M. Measure the circumference of your head to get the size you need.

Needles: 4,5mm circular needles in 40cm, 4,5mm DPNs and a cable needle or an extra DPN.

Gauge: 23sts ribbing with k1, p1 = 10 cm, 18sts ribbing k1, p1 lightly stretched = 10cm.
