This Pattern is inspired by ski lodges, curling up by a fire with a warm Pendleton blanket, and knitting while watching the snow fall.

Winter is one of my favorite times to knit. I love sitting in our family room with a fire going, sipping on my favorite teas, and watching the snow fall. Last year, my family took a wonderful trip to the mountains during a snowy weekend. We drove to a ski lodge near by, and in their lobby, they had the most gorgeous upholstered love seats with stunning geometric patterns. I took a few photos, and used those as inspiration for this cowl.

This pattern in knit in a tube and then joined in the round using a mattress stitch.

Yarn:

  • Homestead Sport is a great option if you would like unpredictable color changes in either the main color or the contrast color. Kits are available on our website.
  • House Fingering & PA Project are two great options if you would like more traditional solid stranded colorwork.
