This is a crochet pattern for Tembo the Elephant, a cute little sitting elephant amigurumi - Part of the Amiani range from Hooked On Patterns, a collection of amigurumi animals.

Written instructions using US terms, includes chart to convert into UK terms. Photographs used throughout with a printer friendly version included.

This pattern can be made with any yarn size. The yarn size you choose will determine the size of your finished elephant. As a guide, using DK yarn with 4mm hook will produce an elephant approximately 8cm tall, I used 14mm safety eyes for this size. Using UK chunky yarn and 5mm hook produced an elephant approximately 12cm tall, I used 16mm safety eyes. The elephant photographed for this pattern has been made using UK Chunky (US Bulky).

You will need:
Grey yarn (or chosen colour) - less than a ball/skein used
Black yarn - small amount just for the tail
White yarn - optional, for tusks and toe details
A pair of safety eyes
Toy stuffing (polyester fibre filling)
A yarn needle and scissors.
