Amoureux Solitaires is inspired by the traditional twisted stitch patterns of Southern Germany and Austria, also known as Bavarian or travelling stitches, collected by Maria Erlbacher in her wonderful book published by Schoolhouse Press.
The sweater is knitted entirely in the round from the bottom to the shoulders, then the armholes and neck are cut open, and the sleeves worked in the round from the armholes to the wrists.
