The Anabelle Top is a sleeveless romantic yet modern top perfect for a summer knit, though it can also be knit using wool and mohair to create a warmer vest.

The garment features a delicate lace motif balanced by cables and stockinette stitch. Simple edgings make the lace pattern shine. It is knit seamlessly from the top-down starting at the back with a European drop-shoulder construction and comes in a cropped and a long version to choose from.

YARN

Any DK weight yarn:

  • For a interseason version you could use a cotton and wool blend.
  • For a summer version I suggest using a blend of cotton and linen (with or without lyocell).
  • For a warmer vest version I suggest using wool. Why not hold a strand of lace and fingering weight yarns together to make it even more fancy?

Long version: you will need approx. 543, 609, 688, (757, 832, 906), 986, 1063, 1141 m / 594, 667, 753, (828, 910, 991), 1079, 1163, 1248 yards of DK weight yarn.

Cropped version: you will need approx. 472, 530, 600, (659, 726, 791), 863, 932, 1001 m / 517, 580, 657, (721, 794, 866), 944, 1020, 1095 yards of DK weight yarn.

Note: If you increase the length of the body and sleeves, you will need more yarn than estimated above. Please keep this in mind when purchasing your yarn.

The cream sample was knit using Sandnes Garn Line (110 m / 120 yards per 50g), a blend of cotton, linen and viscose, in colour way 3011.

The green sample was knit using Drops Belle (120 m / 120 yards per 50g), a blend of cotton, linen and viscose, in colour way 10.
