I have chosen the name Anam Cara from the name of a book by the Irish author, philosopher and priest, and poet - John O’Donohue.
Anam Cara: The Celtic Book of Wisdom
Anam Cara is a phrase that refers to the Celtic concept of the friend of the soul in religion and spirituality.
Anam means “soul” and Cara means“friend”.

This is a PATTERN, NO PATTERN- a knitting recipe

The idea of ​​this shawl is to knit without having to follow each line so that you can get carried away by the process.
Knit fluently.
Knit relaxed.
Knit with pleasure and without stress.
Knowing the basics of brioche you can easily achieve a beautiful shawl.

The idea is to knit increasing and making cables until your yarns weigh half of its original weight and then you can begin to decrease.

Yarn:
Color A: Approximately 400 m fingering weight of one color
Color B: Approximately 400 m fingering weight of a contrasting color

Anam Cara is an exercise in imagination, an exercise in reading your own work and creating a truly unique garment. You can use my notes and images as a guide or you can flow however you want.

As you will see in my VIDEO (https://youtu.be/zUoXCxWkDz4) of the creative process, I wanted to design a shawl that was intuitive to knit and I hope to share this knitting journey. I hope to inspire others to try this way of knitting without fear and always moving forward. You could practice cables, increases and decreases on a sample before starting on your shawl.

In the photos of my shawl, you will notice that some cables are a few rows longer resulting in a looser look. But just like a river flows, nature varies. Sometimes I made an extra increase or I skipped one, and that is totally fine. No problem, it will be just as beautiful as a flowing river no matter what!

ESTO ES UN PATRÓN NO PATRÓN

La idea de este chal es tejer sin tener que seguir cada línea y dejarte llevar por el proceso.
Tejer fluido.

Tejer con gusto y sin estrés.
Sabiendo lo básico de brioche se puede lograr un chal hermoso fácilmente.

La idea es tejer aumentando y haciendo cables hasta que tus lanas pesen la mitad y ya empiezas a disminuir.

Anam Cara es un ejercicio en imaginación, un ejercicio en leer tu propio tejido y crear una prenda realmente única. Se puede usar mis apuntes e imágenes como guía o se puede fluir como cada uno quiera.
Deja que la creatividad fluya por tu tejido.

Como verás en mi VIDEO (https://youtu.be/71ws6u6wsaw) del proceso creativo, quise diseñar algún chal que fuera intuitivo al tejer y espero compartir este viaje tejeril. Espero inspirar a otros a probar esta manera de tejer sin miedo y siempre avanzando. Podrías practicar los cables, los aumentos y las disminuciones en una muestra antes de empezar con tu chal.

En las fotos de mi chal, notarás que algunos cables son una vuelta más larga resultando en un aspecto más suelto. Pero cómo fluye un río, la naturaleza varía. A veces hice un aumento de más o uno de menos, y no pasa nada, es hermoso de todas formas :)
