I saw the yarn in my LYS and knew right away what to do with it…

I designed this rug for my daughter’s room and she loves to play on it. You will need two colors of yarn to complete the project. I fully intend to felt this rug and use it for a table centerpiece when/if my daughter outgrows it! This would also work as a wall hanging or a table placemat - just use a lighter weight yarn and slightly smaller hook for the placemat!

The pattern uses single crochet, a tiny bit of slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, post stitches, and simple decreases. I secured the petals by straight stitching them to each other on the right side and whip stitching on the wrong side, so the rug would be more uniform and lay flat.
