Mayalisa's Super Easy Custom-Fit Case
Feedback would be greatly appreciated. The pattern makes sense to me, but it’s easy to miss something if you’ve been staring at it for hours! :)
Gauge is not important for this project -- you choose your yarn, your hook size, and crochet to fit your preferred size.
I designed this pattern to use when teaching kids to crochet. It is something anyone can do quickly and with very little skill required, and for kids who have picked up the basics more quickly, I offer different closure options. I like patterns that demonstrate how you can customize a simple project to fit your own tastes, so I try to offer that with my designs. Advanced crocheters could do a little math and incorporate their favorite pattern stitch into the bag.
This is a great project to use up scrap yarns, make a gift bag to fit your gift, or experiment with a new stitch pattern or color work.
ABOUT THE PHOTOS: The first photo is a Kindle case I made for a friend using screen-friendly cotton yarn and the button flap closure option. The second photo was made with a microfiber eyelash yarn to hold a young friend’s iPod and earbuds. I made a small flap with two buttons instead of one and a little handle - I thought the buttons look a little like cute “monster eyes.”
