A comprehensive knitting pattern for a wool nappy cover or soaker, designed to act as a breathable, water-resistant layer over a reusable cloth nappy.

You will need to knit this in real wool that hasn’t been superwash treated for it to be effective as a water resistant cover for a cloth nappy. The cover can also be knitted in other yarns to be used purely as a decorative nappy cover or shorts.

The pattern provides a variety of options for sizing and weight of yarn:

Sizing - 5 standard sizes from newborn to toddler, plus 1 standard adult size, or generate a pattern customised to your exact measurements

Weight of yarn - knit the 6 standard sizes using worsted/Aran weight yarn, or generate a pattern for any weight yarn (e.g. chunky yarn for a thicker, quicker knit)

You will receive:
• Guide to Documents - read this first (pdf)
• Using cloth nappies and wool soakers guide(pdf)
• Any Size Wool Soaker pattern – standard sizes (pdf)
• Any Size Wool Soaker pattern – imperial (Excel spreadsheet)
• Any Size Wool Soaker pattern – metric (Excel spreadsheet)

The pdf documents will be available for you to download directly after purchase. The Excel spreadsheets will be emailed to you manually as soon as possible after purchase. The spreadsheets can be opened using Google Sheets if you don’t have MS Office (guidance included).

As well as comprehensive knitting instructions, a wide range of supporting information is included, both for knitting the soaker, using the patterns, and for caring for your finished soakers.

Please note that the suggested gauge and needle sizes in this Ravelry listing are for worsted/Aran weight yarn only - if using different yarn I suggest using the smallest size needles suggested on your yarn’s ball band for the body, and around 1mm smaller for the ribbing.
