Knit a hooded scarf Arctic Hood, an oversized, extra-warm bonnet with scarf ends, perfect for cozying up on cold days.

The scarf hood is knitted flat in one piece from hood down, then each side separately. This project is beginner-friendly, requiring only basic techniques like long tail cast-on, knit and purl stitches, basic increase and decrease with easy icord edges.

YARNS (Several options)

3 balls (approx. 330 m / 360 yards) of Sandnes Garn Börstet Alpakka (96% alpaca, 4% polyamide, 110 m / 120 yds – 50 g)
OR 3 balls of Isager Soft (56% alpaca, 44% organic cotton, 125 m / 137 yds – 50 g)
OR 5 balls of Tukuwool Silk Mohair (30% cruelty-free silk, 70% RMS-certified kid mohair, 225 m / 246 yds – 25 g) held triple

Note: The loose alpaca fabric may stretch in length with wear and washing.

GAUGE

14 sts x 18 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking. Adjust needle size to achieve the correct gauge.
