This pretty beanie with a flower motif is inspired by the breath-taking flowers of the Machair, we encountered whilst walking the Hebridean Way this summer. Designed in soft Rowan Felted Tweed, a fine DK, Merino Alpaca mix and knitted in the round on 3.50 needles, which are smaller than the recommended size making it snuggly warm with good stitch definition. The flower motif is a 12 stitch repeat and the peerie patterns on the crown are a simple 4 stitch repeat. The pattern is illustrated with photographs and clear charts and is suitable for a knitter developing their Fair Isle skills.
