A band of stranding in the form of a swirling colorwork pattern adds warmth and fit to this hat. This topper can be knit up in an evening or two and is a good way to use up partial skeins of beautiful hand-dyed yarn.

To knit this pattern, you need to know how to:

  • knit and purl,
  • work in the round,
  • read and work from a colorwork chart, and
  • do basic decreases (k2tog).

The sample shown in the pattern was knit using color 96/Sunset as the main color and color 150/Azul Profundo as the contrast color. Approximately 85 (120) yds./78 (110) m of the MC and 20 (25) yds./18.5 (23) m of the CC are used for the smaller (larger) size.
