Art Deco Purse
Tunisian crochet is a different method of crochet (similar to knitting) consisting of a “forward pass” (working right to left and picking up all the stitches in a row) and the “return pass” (working back, left to right, to remove the stitches from the hook). ‘Entrelac’ is the technique of working one shape at a time.
Full instructions (with colour photos) are given in the accompanying Stitch Guide for those who have not tried Tunisian Crochet before.
If you do not have a Tunisian crochet hook, it is worth trying a standard crochet hook (without a raised handle) as the stitches (max 23 stitches) will fit on a standard crochet hook and you may find this more comfortable.
The purse is made to fit a 20.5cm (8 in) silver kiss clasp frame.
This purse would also look stunning in black and gold yarn with a gold frame!
